Tasting notes
Loads of crème de cassis, unsmoked tobacco, and exotic spice notes emerge from the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon JCB #1. Coming from hillside fruit on the east side of Napa and aged in 64% new French oak, it offers a saturated purple color, full-bodied richness and power, light tannins, and terrific balance. It’s a seamless Cabernet Sauvignon that’s going to evolve gracefully for 15-20+ years, although there’s no need to delay gratification.

This is made entirely of Cabernet Sauvignon aged in 64% new French oak and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has an exuberant nose of chocolate-covered cherries, cassis and blackberry preserves with suggestions of lavender, cigar boxes and fragrant earth plus a touch of wild sage. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has lovely restraint with understated earthy flavors and a firm, finely grained texture, finishing long and mineral laced. 123 cases produced.
