It has an earthy and toasted profile on the palate, with a full-bodied frame, although it’s never heavy. It is a brooding wine with a wintry sensibility to drink over the next 5-6 years.
The 2021 Pinot Noir Reserve impresses with its contracting nature, showing masses of crushed wild berries and plums lifted by mint leaf and split pine. It’s racy and soft-textured, with tart red berry fruits that slowly saturate, adding tension toward the close. A cascade of violet flowers resonates over a tactile web of minerals and fine tannins, and yet the 2021 keeps the mouth watering for more.
