Bright red. Sexy aromas of blueberry, boysenberry, plum jam, smoked meat, incense and potpourri, all lifted by a tangy mineral accent. Lush, juicy and elegant, with dark fruit flavors enlivened by fresh acidity and complemented by fine-grained, sweet tannins. This silky, suave wine finishes with an impressively persistent display of fresh berry fruit.

The 2003 Altos de Lanzaga is a beautiful Rioja offering soft tannin, low acidity, and round, generous, black cherry and roasted herb notes intermixed with notions of cedar as well as toasty oak. It should drink well for 2-3 years.
