Tasting notes
From a vineyard that seemed to struggle in 2012, the 2012 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard Santa Lucia Highlands is nevertheless an outstanding Pinot Noir that has beautiful cassis, licorice, spice-box and freshly snipped flower qualities all emerging from the glass. Straightforward, yet nicely focused and with an elegant, medium-bodied feel, it will drink nicely over the coming 4-6 years.

Dark blue and purplish fruit, cloves, menthol and violets all meld together in the 2012 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard. This juicy, exuberant Pinot delivers plenty of this site's signatures, including notable intensity of fruit and volume. A rich, textured finish rounds things out nicely.
Saturated ruby. Sexy, oak-spiced dark berries and rose pastille on the powerfully scented nose. Silky and expansive on the palate, offering sweet, rich black raspberry and boysenberry flavors and suggestions of cola and spicecake. Shows outstanding energy and thrust on a gently tannic finish featuring supple tannins and lingering florality.
Classy all around and a complete wine, the 2012 Pinot Noir Pisoni Vineyard dishes out beautiful, mineral-tinged aromas and flavors, medium to full body and serious focus and vibrancy on the palate. This has the richness of the Sierra Mar and Garys', yet better focus. It will have 10-12 years of evolution. Drink 2015-2024. Run by proprietors Adam and Dianna Lee, this estate produces a bevy of high quality efforts from all over California. While known for making wines with immediate appeal, his 2011s might just surprise some people with the solid structure and longevity. They're beautiful, elegant efforts that make the most of the cool vintage Tel. (707) 578-3882; www.siduri.com
