Score 92/100 · Drink 2021-2037, Jeb Dunnuck, Jan 2021

The 2018 Red Blend Jean-Noel Fourmeaux comes from a single vineyard on Mount Veeder (the Saffron Vineyard) and is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc, and the balance equal parts Malbec and Petit Verdot. A ripe, powerful, heady mountain Cabernet, it offers lots of plum and blackberry fruits as well notes of roasted herbs, crushed stone, bouquet garni, and tobacco. It doesn't pull any punches on the ripeness scale yet holds it together and is just a sexy, plush, hedonistic Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years or so.
