Score 93/100 · Drink 2020-2026, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Nov 2020

The 2012 Pinot Noir Diane Cobb Coastlands Vineyard still has incredible fruit on the nose with loads of berry and rhubarb accented by dried flowers, tea and tobacco leaves. The medium-bodied palate is surprisingly concentrated and fresh, with a firm frame and long, flavor-packed finish. This is holding up beautifully and should drink well over the next 5-7 years.

The 2012 Pinot Noir Diane Cobb: Coastlands Vineyard, from own-rooted vines planted in 1989, is in many ways the most complete of these wines in that it brings together both the aromatic and fruit-driven components of this site. Exotic spice, orange peel, sweet red plum and pine are some of the many notes that lift from the glass. Deeply expressive, pliant and super-expressive, the Diane Cobb is a total knock-out.

Produced entirely from the Diane Cobb block of Coastlands Vineyard. The ripest style of the Cobb Pinots (and perhaps a bit riper than ideal for this site), the Diane Cobb also gives the greatest sense of ease and purity. Offering subtle aromatics and a giving palate of red berry and cherry fruit and flowers. Pretty and plump, not heavy nor sweet, this wine still carries washing acidity, resolved tannins, and lots of length. (ECB)

The 2012 Pinot Noir Diane Cobb: Coastlands Vineyard is fabulous. Deep, rich and beautifully layered to the core, the 2012 possesses a remarkable sense of weightless power. The inclusion of 40% whole clusters, gives the Diane Cobb a gorgeous sense of lift. Lavender, smoke, grilled, herbs and violets are some of the notes that meld into the super-expressive finish. What a gorgeous wine this is. In the 2012, this fruit was picked into October.
