Grapes for the 2023 Syrah Sonoma Coast come from three vineyards harvested October 13 and 24 and November 1. It was fermented with whole clusters and matured for nine months in used French oak. The nose offers arresting scents of blackcurrant, blueberry, cracked pepper, mint and violet. The medium-bodied palate is elegantly styled with nuanced, floral flavors and 12.5% alcohol. It’s framed by muscular, chalky tannins and bright acidity and has a long, perfumed finish. This overdelivers for its modest appellation status.

The 2023 Syrah (Sonoma Coast) is outrageously beautiful. Inky blue/purplish fruit, lavender, sage and gravel rush across the palate. Dense, savory and super-expressive, the 2023 has so much to offer. At $40 a bottle, it is a superb value. The riper style works quite well here.
