Good full, deep red. Bright aromas of cherry, cassis, graphite, menthol and tobacco. Juicy, sweet and firm but not hard, with enticing primary fruit flavors of cherry, raspberry and currant complicated by a whiff of menthol. Turns tannic on the back end, cutting off the fruit. Give this structured merlot a couple years in the cellar.

Score 91/100 · Drink 2010-2022, Jay S Miller, Wine Advocate, Aug 2010
The 2007 Merlot was aged in 47% new French oak. Medium purple-colored, it displays a nose of sage, olives, balsam wood, cassis, and black currant. Medium-bodied, ripe, and layered on the palate, this is a savory, spicy Merlot that will evolve for 2-3 years and drink well through 2022. Tel. (509) 525-6502; www.pepperbridge.com
