Tasting notes
The 2015 Malbec Farrow Ranch is 100% Malbec, aged two years in 90% new French oak, and offers a rocking bouquet of blueberries, scorched earth, exotic spices, and spring flowers. Its full-bodied, concentrated, and deep, yet also stays light on the palate and has good acidity and freshness. It's going to drink beautifully for 10-15 years. Devil Proof Vineyards is a collaboration between father and son Andy and Jesse Katz, with Jesse making the wines, focusing on two single vineyards and 100% Malbec. The wines are brilliant and unquestionably some of the finest expressions of Malbec out there.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2015 Malbec Farrow Ranch is a little mute to begin, giving way to a rock-star nose of crème de cassis, blueberry pie and baked cherries with nuances of plum pudding and Christmas cake plus touches of potpourri and espresso. Very big, full-bodied and jam-packed with generous fruit, it has a built-like-a-brick-house structure and finishes with epic length. Forget this for 5-6 years and drink it over the next 20+. 640 cases are expected to be made.
