Tasting notes
This wine fermented entirely spontaneously and was raised primarily but not exclusively in tank. It comes off like a lusciously refreshing yet subtly creamy, anise- and mint-infused quince and lime sherbet. Polished, buoyant and transparent to myriad herbal and mineral nuances, it finishes with tongue-tingling vibrancy, mouthwatering salinity, and a brilliantly shimmering sense of crystalline, stony impingements.

The 7.5% alcohol 2014 Münsterer Dautenpflänzer Riesling Spätlese has a very clear and slightly smoky bouquet with some herbal flavors. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, and bottled with 60 grams of residual sugar, it is intentionally drier than the corresponding Spätlese from the Scharlachberg. It's a piquant and elegant Riesling that will be excellent only in ten years. Very long and with a tension-filled finish. No botrytized grapes were processed for this Spätlese, which is another Best Buy in case you can keep it!
