Tasting notes
The 2022 Syrah Nuts and Bolts spent 18 months in 90% new French oak. The nose displays some semblance of meaty, herbal elements peering through an otherwise opaque wall of sweet black fruits, brown sugar and dark chocolate. The palate is syrupy in its concentration, concluding with a deep yet ultimately fruity finish framed by oak-derived tannins.

Darker berries, peppery herbs, sappy underbrush, game, and bouquet garni notes all soar from the 2022 Nuts & Bolts, another ripe, powerful wine in the lineup. All Syrah from a mix of York, Slide Hill, Chelle Mountain, and White Hawk vineyards, it has a round, layered, elegant mouthfeel, polished yet building tannins, and a great finish. It's a classic Russell From Syrah that holds onto a beautiful, almost cool climate-inspired style.
The 2022 Nuts & Bolts is a varietal Syrah, with a gorgeous bouquet of violet pastille, spiced blood orange, dried black cherries and sage aromas. This is surprisingly fresh and zesty, with spicy red and black fruits swirling throughout. It leaves the palate drenched in primary concentration as gently grippy tannins and hints of mocha linger.
