Tasting notes
The 2019 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard has a medium ruby-purple color and scents of roasted plums, cassis, dried herbs and turned earth. The palate is full-bodied, soft and juicy with ripe black fruits and a simple finish.

The 2019 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard melds together the aromatic lift typical of Los Alamos with a deep, potent expression of this site. Inky blue/purplish fruit, chocolate, dark spice, leather and lavender wrap around the palate. This deep, potent Syrah needs a few years in bottle to truly shine, but it sure is impressive today.
The 2019 Syrah Watch Hill Vineyard is another brilliant wine. Coming from a cooler terroir in Los Alamos and 95% Syrah and 5% Viognier, its deep purple hue is followed by a pure, clean bouquet of darker berry fruits, crushed stone, ground pepper, leather, and spring flowers. More mineral-laced and masculine than the Roasted Slope release, it has plenty of ripe, polished tannins, beautifully integrated acidity, and outstanding length. It will benefit from 2-3 years in the cellar and keep for 10-15.
