Tasting notes
The 2015 Château Le Monteil D'Arsac is another attractive, medium-bodied, well-made Cru Bourgeois that gives up lots of ripe cherry and currant fruit and leafy herbs. With solid overall balance and good ripeness, drink it over the coming 8-10 years.

Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois annual tasting, the 2015 le Monteil d'Arsac felt awkward on the nose, quite herbaceous but fresh and it indeed does gain cohesion with time. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, simple but balanced with a touch of tobacco and pencil lead on the short finish. Fine, but not long-term. Tasted September 2017.
52% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon. Mid crimson. Racy, energetic nose. Then a tad stodgy on the palate with a drying end but it’s an honest wine. (JR)
