Tasting notes
Made in a straightforward, monolithic style, this deep ruby/purple-colored 2000 (less saturation than most) possesses red and black berry flavors intermixed with earth, leather, chocolate, and spice. Medium-bodied and sweet, but superficial, it lacks density as well as intensity. Drink it over the next 12-15 years. Importer: Broadbent Selections, San Francisco, CA; tel. (415) 931-1725

Bright healthy crimson though not that much depth. Already some development on the nose, which is unusual to say the least. Rather claret-like. Foxgloves. Lots of sweetness, a touch of prune juice but worryingly advanced and only medium-bodied. (JR)
Moderately saturated medium ruby. Slightly shallow aromas of black raspberry, mocha, flowers and herbs; hint of torrefaction. A sweet, slightly high-toned midweight, with moderate flesh and density; in a rather juicy, fresh, easygoing style, with somewhat grapey flavors.
