Tasting notes
The 2021 Pinot Noir Spirithouse was fermented with 80% whole clusters and matured for 16 months in 40% new oak. It has inviting scents of cranberry sauce, rhubarb, blood orange and allspice. The light-bodied palate pairs concentrated flavors with silky tannins and refreshing acidity, and it has an easygoing, spicy finish. 700 six-pack cases were made.

Taking a red color in the glass, the 2021 Pinot Noir Spirit House is spicy on the nose with notes of coriander (or maybe celery seed?) , forest herbs, cherries, and dried orange. Savory and medium-bodied, it offers fine tannins, mouthwatering, ripe acidity, and a clean finish. It is a lovely, fresh, spicy wine to drink over the next 3-5 years. Bottled under screwcap.
A mix of ground cloves, gingery spice, minty herbs and dried black cherries makes the 2021 Pinot Noir Spirithouse impossible to ignore. It smoothes over the palate with ripe wild berry fruits and mineral tones, all lifted by a core of cooling acidity. Violet inner florals resonate along with depths of exotic spice and an air of incense as the 2021 finishes long and structured. Fine-grained tannins promise a long and fruitful evolution.
