Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Montée de Tonnerre 1er Cru is slightly more closed on the nose than its peers, needing more encouragement from the glass but never quite clicking into fifth gear. The palate is well balanced with orange zest and citrus fruit on the entry. There is good depth here, less saline than other Premier Crus but demonstrating impressive concentration on the finish. One to watch.

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre is another of Brocard's more reserved wines, unfurling in the glass with notes of citrus zest, green apple and wet stones. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and delicately textural, with tangy acids and a tight-knit core, concluding with a somewhat fleeting finish that depresses my score.
