Tasting notes
The 2009 Crianza is a blend of 75% Tinta Fino, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot raised in 225-liter French oak casks for 18 months. It has a slightly smudged bouquet that gains more clarity with aeration, offering scents of creme de cassis, dark chocolate, plum and a whiff of alcohol. The palate is full-bodied with a smooth chocolaty entry. It is very lush, with precocious toasty dark fruit leading to a powerful finish. Drink 2013-2020. (80% tempranillo, 15% cabernet sauvignon and 5% merlot, aged for 17 months in French oak): Deep ruby. Ripe, heady aromas of candied plum, blackberry and potpourri. Rich and fleshy in the mouth, with lively acidity lifting the creamy dark berry and rose pastille flavors. Shows impressive depth and concentration, finishing with a suave sweetness and gentle, harmonious tannins.
