2001 Nuits St Georges Chenes Carteaux

Bright ruby-red. Aromatic nose combines black cherry, licorice and a meaty nuance; very Nuits-Saint-Georges. Then sweet, lush and rather easygoing, but with solid supporting backbone. Flavors are dense and chocolatey. Finishes with very good vinosity and length. In a distinctly feminine style, but with solid concentration. As with most of these 2001s, the tannins arrive late.
