Score 90/100 · Drink 2000-2015, Robert Parker, Dec 2000
The 1998 Eloge (65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Merlot) possesses an evolved, complex nose offering sweet black cherry and currant fruit intermixed with earth, graphite, tobacco leaf, cedar, and spice. Medium-bodied, velvety-textured, harmonious, and concentrated, it should drink well for 15+ years. Tel. (707) 963-8600; fax (707) 963-7818

Deep red. Cooler aromas of cherry, raspberry, tobacco leaf, clove and mint. Lush and nicely intense, but with slightly more apparent acidity. Still, the flavors are ripe and firm. Has the persistence of flavor to support the fairly substantial tongue-coating tannins.
