Stewed brambles, attractive and balanced with peppery spice on the finish and a lovely dark-chocolate complexity too. Loads of spice on the aftertaste – gives plenty of flavour for an affordable price. Lovely chewy texture too, that is digestible now but will reward maturation. A great example of lesser appellations punching above their weight. (RH)

Bright violet. Mineral-accented dark berries on the perfumed nose; peppery spice and floral notes build as the wine opens up. Densely packed but energetic blackberry and bitter cherry flavors show hints of olive and candied violet and pick up a peppery quality with air. Finishes with vibrant mineral cut, slow-building tannins and strong, spicy persistence. There's a fair amount of young-vines Cornas, especially from Les Chailles, included in this bottling.

Basic red fruit on the nose, better spice and breadth on the palate. The nice thing about the 2015 vintage is how effortless it seems – this is quintessential rhône with spice and fruit generosity – not too much, but enough to satisfy. (RH)

Lurid ruby. High-pitched red berry and floral aromas are complemented by hints of cracked pepper and smoky minerals. Juicy and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering lively cherry and black raspberry flavors and a note of olive that emerges on the back half. Silky tannins firm the persistent finish, where the berry and pepper notes repeat.
