2021 Y Rousseau Cabernet Sauvignon Le Roi Soleil

These Vin Soleil releases come all from the Oak Knoll region in the southern part of the valley and are made by Jean Hoefliger. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon has a great perfume of cassis, violets, and scorched earth, as well as some Graves-like gravelly minerality. This superb, medium to full-bodied, elegant 2021 has plenty of tannins and the class to benefit from 4-5 years of bottle age. I suspect it will have an easy two decades of prime drinking.
