Tasting notes
Beautiful nose of violets, figs, crushed blackberry and leather. The palate has a lovely salinity and the oak is well integrated – a lovely smoked, herbal note and grilled meat on the rich-textured mid palate and finish. The tannins are polished and well integrated – in a great place now. (AC)

The 2018 Syrah EQ Cool Climate from San Antonio was aged for 16 months in used barrels. Dark garnet in color. The nose offers attractively clear, expressive notes of flesh and blackberry, dark fruit, and pepper. Silky on the palate with a terse, delicate feel. The bold finish lingers at length before the aftertaste of dark fruit.
Biodynamic, certified by Demeter. Clones 174 and just a small amount of 470. Fermented with ambient yeast and 35% whole cluster. 18 months in French oak barrels Spicy, floral, rosemary, warmth on the palate, broad acid – not linear or mouth-watering – rounder and gamier than the Corralillo, violets, a wallop of spicy pepper. Lots of typicality, excellent balance, really expressive. (SCJ)
