Tasting notes
The 2022 Pinot Noir Reserve is blessed with lovely, cherry-laced fruit. The palate is defined by what one assumes is whole-bunch character (although I cannot find confirmation of this), which lends blood orange, dried petals and pressed flowers to the fray. The wine has a beautiful, sapid palate, with woodsy tannin and spice and layers of cherry, exotic spices and raw cocoa. It's a nicely handled, elegant, lean Pinot Noir. 12.7% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Wetter year and 10% new oak. Smelled a little sweaty at first and it needed air. Red apple and damsons. Robust fruit. A generous style, with nice ripe acidity, but more channeling the spirit of Merlot rather than Pinot. (TC)
