Tasting notes
Opaque ruby. Strongly aromatic, complex nose offers dark fruits, flowers and spices. Fleshy and sweet, with deep blackberry and bitter cherry flavors. Turns spicier with aeration and finishes with gentle tannic grip and outstanding persistence. This went into a shell in the glass, suggesting that it deserves some patience.

The 2006 Syrah Dry Creek, which is blended with 6% Petite Sirah, exhibits notes of blackberry, blueberry, and loamy soil as well as some hints of garrigue and meat juices. The wine displays fabulous fruit, a long, full-bodied, powerful mouthfeel, good structure, and amazing length. It is hard to know how long this wine will last, but it is extra special. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.
