It will be interesting to see what the price will be for this 260-case cuvee (from an 80-year-old vineyard) fashioned by the impressive trio of Dan Philips, Trevor Jones, and Chris Ringland. A single vineyard Shiraz from the Ebenezer district aged 36 months in A.P. John French oak barrels, it is closest in quality to the Roennfeldt Road cuvees from Greenock Creek. An inky/blue/purple color is followed by aromas of ink, graphite, blackberries, blueberries, and flowers. With fabulous concentration, superb purity, and surprisingly fresh acidity as well as density, this amazing Shiraz should be enjoyed between 2009-2020+.
