Tasting notes
The 2016 Neuenahrer Sonnenberg Spätburgunder GG is deep and slatey on the spicy-elegant nose but predominantly fruity, with pure and intense dark berry aromas. Full-bodied, lush and a bit oaky on the palate, this is a quite intense and powerful Ahr Spätburgunder with good tension, intensity and length. It is not the purest one, but it surely has the potential to age for 5-10 years. Tasted during the preview of the GG wines in Wiesbaden in August 2018.

Medium cherry hue, pink rim; a fragrance of cigar-box aromas and soft red-berry fruit appeals to the olfactory perception. The taste of juicy morello cherries is presented on a rich texture, healthy acidity providing the necessary animation. A touch of cedar spice refines the flavour. (MS)
