Tasting notes
(made from young vines in Starderi; bottled in March of this year; aged entirely in barriques, just 5% new): Medium red. Complex nose melds plum, redcurrant, raspberry, tobacco, sage and smoked meat, plus a flinty element. Quite primary but already nuanced, showing an attractive juicy quality to its red fruit and leather flavors. Finishes with substantial firm but sweet tannins and noteworthy persistence. An excellent nebbiolo bottling and a good example of its vintage.
