Tasting notes
A Malbec combining grapes from Paraje Altamira, Los Chacayes and Gualtallary that spent 10 months in concrete and European oak barrels with no filtration and minimal added sulfites. An expressively fruity profile combines traces of ripe blueberry with fresh sour cherry and a hint of wood and jam. Complex in the mouth, it delivers chalky but gentle tannins with accomplished volume and freshness. An extreme take on Uco Valley Malbec.

From Gualtallary, Los Chacayes and Paraje Altamira, but simply Uco Valley on the label. 100% Malbec. Winemaker Gabriel Bloise admits this is their most commercial wine, aged substantially in barriques. Rather sumptuous nose. And nice fresh fruit on the palate. (JR)
