Tasting notes
Medium ruby. Inky, oaky aromas of cassis, blackberry, menthol and licorice, with a hint of something a bit green. Juicy, nicely delineated, savory and intense, displaying lovely reserve and lift to its dark berry, spice, herb and earth flavors. A supple, spicy, moderately ripe Cabernet with lovely depth and subtle density. Finishes with firm but smooth tannins and excellent length. Tight-grained in the early going but not backward or tough. Suaver, denser and sweeter than the Final-Final, with more stuffing to carry its tannins.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Big Papa checks in as all Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Bacchus, Sagemoor, Red Willow, and Kiona vineyards. This inky hued effort offers a complex and classic bouquet of black fruits, cedary spice, dried tobacco, and earth. Rich, medium to full-bodied, and nicely textured, drink this balanced, elegant Cabernet over the coming 15+ years or more.
