Tasting notes
Full, bright ruby. Aromas of crushed blackberry, black raspberry, licorice and violet, plus a whiff of game. Fine-grained, concentrated, savory wine with lovely varietal character to its ripe blueberry and floral flavors. Boasts excellent definition and inner-mouth lift but still a bit youthfully imploded and in need of a couple years of patience. This very suave Syrah finishes with substantial smooth tannins. (14.5% alcohol; made in a neutral puncheon, then aged in a concrete egg and one neutral puncheon; 3.9 pH)

The flagship Syrah, the 2016 Syrah Estate is 100% Syrah that was completely destemmed and brought up in neutral French oak puncheons. Deep purple-colored, with a great bouquet of blueberries, plums, smoked herbs, ground pepper, and gamy meats, it has loads of Syrah character and charm. With medium to full-bodied richness, notable purity, and ripe tannins, it's a powerful Syrah that stays balanced and light on the palate. Drink it over the coming 8-10 years.
