A meaty, old-school style effort that emerges from the team of Michel Rolland, the 2016 Château Laniote gives up ample thick black fruits, spiced herbs, and leathery notes in a medium to full-bodied, savory, chewy, borderline rustic package. Drink it over the coming 10-15 years or so.

The 2016 Laniote St Émilion offers pretty, earthy red berry aromas on the nose, which is a little rustic but charming. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannin; touches of black tea and allspice infuse the black fruit, leading to a rounded but, again, quite charming finish. Fine.

A juicy and flavorful red with lots of ripe berries, chocolate and a flavorful finish. Full body. Silky tannins. Drink in 2022.
