Tasting notes
A blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc and 12% Petit Verdot, selected from the best lots in the winery, the 2019 Cambium contains components from Rutherford, Calistoga and Atlas Peak. It's inky in hue, with bold aromas of mint, licorice, cassis and cedar (maturation was in approximately 75% new French oak). Full-bodied, rich and concentrated, it's dense and tannic, even a bit chewy on the finish, but in a good way, with those savory overtones balancing lingering notes of purple raspberries.

The deep purple-hued 2019 Red Blend Cambium (70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot) is terrific, offering a classy, full-bodied, incredibly impressive profile as well as notes of cassis, smoked tobacco, graphite, and classy oak. The tannins here are terrific, and this beauty can be drunk today or cellared for 10-15 years if you’re so inclined. There are just over 800 cases produced.
The 2019 Red Blend Cambium, Sequoia Grove's high-end red blend is racy and flamboyant to the core. Blackberry jam, mocha, licorice, crème de cassis and bittersweet chocolate are all amplified. Readers will find a wine built on textural richness and opulence. All the elements come together effortlessly.
