Score 90/100 · Drink 2013-2020, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Jun 2013

Ex-chateau bottle tasted blind in Sauternes. The Caillou ‘03 is missing a little freshness and complexity on the nose with honey, white flowers and quince. The palate is medium-bodied with a viscous entry, a good level of acidity and a composed middle and finish of dried apricot, quince and yellow plum. It is a harmonious Sauternes 2003 that is probably flying under the radar, but it should age with style. Drink now-2020. Tasted April 2013.

Pale yellow-gold color. Sexy aromas of peach and spicy oak. Sweet and soft but not at all flat, with layered honey, peach and spice flavors and very good length. A very good showing for this chateau.

Mid gold with greenish highlights. Very volatile. Note of wood. Bit dangerous! Big and broad but not knit. Ripe pear juice flavours, and marked acidity on the finish. Quite persistent. (JR)
