The lychee nut and rose-scented 1999 Gewurztraminer Herrenweg de Turckheim is a soft, rich, spicy wine. Very ripe but reticent nose suggests honey and roasted yellow fruits. Full, sweet and expressive, but with lovely balancing acids. A classically balanced vintage for this bottling: sweet, smooth, persistent and enjoyable already. Finishes with a note of cinnamon.
