Tasting notes
The 2020 Engelgarten "Le jardin des anges" exhibits a golden-yellow color and opens with a generous and slightly reductive and stony bouquet of ripe and lush fruits combined with acacia honey aromas. On the palate, this is a richer, smoothly textured, saline, fresh and finely tannic, also bitter-finishing Engelgarten that combines the generosity of the vintage with the coolish and earthy character of the terroir. The wine is long and quite complex as well as intense. 13.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.

The 2020 Engelgarten is a field blend of Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir and Muscat from behind the winery on alluvial gravel mixed with clay and marl. The nose is subtle, with hints of apricot and golden pear. The palate is dry but has a lovely roundness, a certain viscosity underlined by a tingling citrus pith alongside the edges. Grapefruit zest is mouth-watering on the dry, long and defined finish. (Dry)
