Tasting notes
The 2017 Chablis Vaulorent 1er Cru is powerful and ample, and yet it also retains gorgeous energy that is remarkable for such a rich and obviously potent wine. There is so much going on in the glass. And that is precisely what makes the Vaulorent one of the most compelling wines in the range. Aromatically intense, resonant and super-expressive, the Vaulorent has so much to give.

The 2017 Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent didn't impress me quite as much from bottle as it did during its élevage, though it's still a very solid effort. Bursting with aromas of citrus blossom, honeycomb and grapefruit, it's medium to full-bodied, open-knit and sun-kissed, with less texture and less cut than the l'Homme Mort.
This has fresh, lemon and lime aromas with a gently flinty, crushed-stone undercurrent. The palate has a superbly fresh and succulent feel with such fresh and attractively ripe peach flavors, delivering a fleshy and intense finish. Drink or hold.
