Tasting notes
Saturated ruby. Potent dark berry, cherry preserve, potpourri and incense aromas show sharp delineation and take on exotic spice and smoky mineral nuances with air. Sweet and seamless on the palate, offering concentrated cherry cola, blackberry spicecake and violet pastille flavors that become more energetic as the wine opens up. Smoothly blends richness and vivacity and finishes spicy and extremely long, with resonating florality, pliant tannins and gentle closing grip.

The 2015 The Mason Forsythe is a more Grenache-driven wine in this vintage and is 50% Grenache and 25% each of Mourvèdre and Syrah. This big, beefy, full-bodied beauty boasts killer notes of ripe dark fruits, blueberries, beef blood, crushed violets, and cured meats. With full-bodied richness, beautiful mid-palate density, and integrated oak, it’s going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and keep for 15 years or more.
