2017 Quixote Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap Wine Cellars Ranch

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot, and the rest Cabernet Franc that's all from estate vineyards in Stags Leap. Aged 19 months in 50% new French oak, it has classic notes of red and black currants, toasted bread, violets, and white chocolate. These give way to a medium to full-bodied, silky, elegant wine that has no hard edges, notable balance, and a great finish. Drink it over the coming decade.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is soft, plush and easygoing, all qualities which make it easy to drink and enjoy young. Sweet red cherry, red plum, cedar and tobacco add layers of aromatic nuance to this pretty, mid-weight Cabernet. Dollops of Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc add quite a bit of character.

The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon is blended of 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple in color, it has very pretty aromas of kirsch, black raspberries, plum preserves and warm red and black currants with hints of lavender, bay leaves and damp soil. Medium-bodied, the palate has lovely purity with notes of crunchy red and black fruits and a lively backbone, supported with a fine-grained frame, finishing with a compelling lift. 620 cases produced.
