Tasting notes
The 2023 White Wine Cuvée Karatas comes mostly from the Bedrock Vineyard, plus a smaller portion from the Judge Vineyard. Composed of 51% Sauvignon Blanc and 49% Sémillon, it has intense aromas of peach, nectarine, graham cracker, honey and spice. The full-bodied palate offers deeply concentrated, nuanced flavors. It’s balanced by bright acidity and has a long, flavorful finish. Enjoy it over the next decade.

The 2023 Cuvee Karatas is a Bordeaux Blanc-inspired blend featuring Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon sourced from the Bedrock and Judge Vineyards. Aged in 42% new French oak barrels, it pours a straw hue and boasts refreshing notes of melon, lime zest, fresh white peach, beeswax, and tropical flowers. The palate has a fantastic savory feel with its oak influence gently framing the wine and enhancing its depth of texture. A refreshing white, I expect it to improve and reach its peak in the next 10 years.
The 2023 Cuvée Karatas is delicate, elegant and beautifully floral, with lovely understated mid-palate oiliness. White pear, green apple and mint open nicely, lifted by tropical overtones that are so beguiling. The blend of 49% Sémillon (from Bedrock), 35% Sauvignon Blanc (from Bedrock) and 16% Sauvignon Blanc (from Judge) works so well. This is beautifully done.
