Donât let the extremely dense and dark nose deceive you. This has lovely, sweet berries, which balance the rather fine tannins very nicely. Long, moderately dry finish with some mineral freshness. Better from 2020.

From a Howell Mountain site previously known as the Vogt Vineyard, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Pauli Vineyard (aged in 70% new French oak) reveals a saturated purple color as well as a savory, herbal style in its black fruits, pine forest, bay leaf, and chocolate aromas and flavors. Drink this medium to full-bodied, layered, ripe Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon over the coming 10-15 years.
