Tasting notes
The estate's 2006 Barolo Cerretta is one of the finest wines I have tasted at this address. The Cerretta flows with impressive density and richness in its fruit that virtually covers the tannins all the way through to the powerful, imposing finish. Menthol, spices and a host of other balsamic aromas and flavors are woven throughout, adding further dimensions of complexity.

This is a beautiful set of 2006 Baroli from Davide Rosso, a young grower who continues to demonstrate significant promise. Importers: Massanois Imports, Washington, DC; tel. Serralunga d'Alba. Medium-concentrated ruby. Cough syrup and fruitcake. Not the most complex of palates and really sweet on the finish. (WS)
Barrel sample. Simple Cherry Tunes on the nose. Medicinal and chewy, lots of clove essence and cinnamon liqueur (anyone tasted After Shock?). Some cherry. A little one-dimensional. (TC)
