Tasting notes
Gunsmoke and cloves, reserved and understated with slate and pumice texture, serious and structured right now, with sappy citrus and it relaxes in the glass, and oyster shell salinity on the finish. Clear ageing capacity, great quality.

The 2024 Opalie, matured in 20% to 25% new oak with around 10% going through malolactic conversion, has a well-defined bouquet with dew-dappled green apple and citrus scents opening in the glass. The palate is where the action is, with fresh orange zest and Japanese yuzu on the entry. Its cutting acidity lends tension with ample weight and length toward the harmonious and lingering finish. This is excellent.
Flowers, pineapples, green apples, and white peach skins pop in the nose. On the palate, the wine is crisp and fresh, leaving you with pineapples, lemon pith, and pomelo. This wine is quite racy in style. This is the first vintage to show its new label, and name. The wine is a blend of 53% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon, and 7% Sauvignon Gris.
