Tasting notes
From a beautiful, southwestern-facing slope just outside of the village, the 2024 Château Franc Mayne is deep purple-hued, with attractive aromatics of red, blue, and black fruits intermixed with leafy tobacco, damp earth, and graphite. It's nicely textured, medium-bodied, has solid mid-palate depth, and good length on the finish, all making for an incredibly successful, impressive wine in this challenging vintage.

The 2024 Franc-Mayne is one of the vintage's overachievers. Bursting with aromas of blackberries, cherries and petals, this 100% Merlot cuvée (young Cabernet Franc vines haven't yet entered into production) is medium to full-bodied, layered and impressively textural, with lively acids and a broad, expansive finish.
Attractive, bright fruits, not a big shouldered wine but it has charm and balance, and a burst of fresh fruits, kiwi, red cherry, pumice stone, tobacco leaf, drawn out with potential for ageing. 30 hl/ha yield.
The 2024 Franc Mayne,100% Merlot, is fabulous. Rich, layered and enveloping, the 2024 is superb. Dark raspberry, mocha, licorice, incense and rose petal are some of the many notes that build in the glass. More than anything else, Franc Mayne speaks to balance. I especially admire its understated power and overall harmony. The 2024 spent six weeks on the skins. Tasted two times.
