Tasting notes
Wonderfully chiselled, intensely vertical and sublimely tense and fresh, lively and energetic this is the epitome of what makes this a great vintage for the dry whites on these kinds of terroirs and in the hands of great technicians. This is glorious already with those lovely zesty notes, orange blossom too and a hint of green tea and yuzu, almost even a touch of grated ginger, but it will age effortlessly too. Radiantly sapid and grippy on the finish in a way that wonderfully refreshes the palate. Excellent.

Based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, the 2024 Château Couhins delivers solid, ripe red and black fruits, smoked tobacco, graphite, and smoky oak. Aged in French oak (33% new), it's medium-bodied, showing solid mid-palate depth, ripe tannins, and the juicy style of the vintage.
A blend of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and the rest Sauvignon Gris, the 2024 Couhins Blanc exhales aromas of pear, spring flowers and angelica. Medium-bodied, tense and straight, it's lively with incisive acidity that leads to a mouthwatering finish.
Pineapple, citrus, this has some pretty grippy acidity overall, well structured, slim, elderflower and apple blossom aromatics, good quality. Harvest 6 to 14 September. 70% new oak.
