2015 was not an easy harvest in Luján de Cuyo, where the grapes for the 2015 Bramare Malbec Marchiori Estate grow. It comes through as ripe and a little heady, with notes of plums and dark cherries and an earthy and spicy touch. There are balsamic aromas reminiscent of cigar ash and incense with a touch of graphite and licorice. It has a full-bodied palate, with grainy, slightly dusty tannins. This comes from a different block than the Cobos, and there are slightly younger vines with less stony soils. Here the wine matured in 65% new French barriques for 18 months. 6,480 bottles produced.

(15% alcohol, the highest among these single-vineyard Malbecs; from 60-year-old vines; aged in 60% new oak; this is the only one of these that hit 15% in 2015): Dark ruby-red. Exotic carnal perfume combines black raspberry, flowers, caramel and sexy oak; reminded me of a ripe Pomerol. Then quite sweet and easygoing on the palate, with blueberry and black cherry fruit flavors and a strong element of sweet oak. Less energetic than the Chañares Estate bottling but elegant and seamless (the soil here is less stony and richer in clay). The sweetest of this set of Malbec, this beauty finishes with a fine dusting of tannins and terrific length. Vignoni finds these 2015s much brighter and more focused than the '14s, which continues the trend here in recent years.
