Score 89+/100 · Drink 2017-2026, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2015
The 2011 Boca is quite ripe and flashy, especially for the appellation. Sweet red cherry, tobacco, mint, licorice and leather are all given an extra kick of ripeness and flashiness in this vintage. Another few months will help the 2011 find its balance in bottle, but it is impressive today just the same.

Score 90/100 · Drink 2017-2021, Antonio Galloni, Vinous
The 2011 Boca is a bit more forward in its flavors than the 2012 tasted alongside it, but it also has softer contours that take out some of the rusticity found in its younger sibling. Sweet tobacco, worn-in leather, herbs and dried fruit all suggest the 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later, even though the wine has plenty of textural depth.
