Tasting notes
The 2021 Cabernet Franc Estate, matured for 21 months in 100% new French oak, takes some time to unfold its savory scents of steak sauce, grilled peppers, coffee beans and game meats to reveal a deep core of kirsch. The full-bodied palate is pure and expressive with concentrated, violet-laced blueberry fruit. It has a plush texture and a long, layered finish. It deserves 3-5 years in bottle to unwind.

Dark chocolate mixes with fresh mint and black cherries as the wickedly fresh 2021 Cabernet Franc Estate blossoms in the glass. Seamlessly silky and cool-toned in feel, it effortlessly sweeps across the palette. An array of ripe fruits swirl throughout, contrasted by sour citrus and inner sage. The 2021 finishes with outstanding length, gently tannic and concentrated. The balance here can not be denied, nor can its seductive nature, but I must say that I’d prefer a more varietal character.
