Whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral oak. Smells of beeswax, pomelo pith and Asian pear. Wet-chalkboard minerality melds with Asian pear and pomelo flavours as crackling acidity keeps things mouth-watering. A very faint salinity emerges in the finish. VGV (AY)

A gorgeous, alluring wine, the 2018 Chenin Blanc (Lodi) is utterly captivating from the first taste. Translucent and mineral, the 2018 also possesses remarkable depth and tons of varietal character. Orchard fruit, mint and white flowers all open up with time, but it is the wine's superb balance that impresses me most. The Lodi Chenin is sourced from Sandlands' Kirschenmann estate vineyard.
