Score 94/100 · Drink 2016-2036, Robert Parker, Oct 2016
From steep, rocky soils on Pritchard Hill, there are only 50 cases of the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard, so I will keep my notes short. The silky tannins, opulence, voluptuous texture and blue and black fruits are glorious in this classic from Pritchard Hill that should drink nicely for 20 more years.

The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Melanson Vineyard is a wine of contrasts. It possesses terrific energy and tension, both signatures of this Pritchard Hills site. Here, too, the oak and overall extraction are pushed to the limit. The 2014 has aged well, but it's time to drink any remaining bottles. Even so, there's very good precision and nuance here.
