Tasting notes
From 64-year-old vines in the Casa Nuestra vineyard. Already quite a mature wine with very intense flavours. Obviously Chenin and not expensive but I wouldn’t mind a bit more acidity. (JR)

Whole-cluster pressed and fermented in neutral oak. Smells faintly of struck match, along with wet chalkboard, straw and pear skin. Saline flavours of Asian pear and unripe pear mix with pear skin and pomelo pith. Lean, bright and mouth-watering thanks to excellent acidity. VGV (AY)
The 2019 Chenin Blanc (Amador County) is especially fine in 2019. While I generally do not like to compare American wines to their French counterparts, the Amador County Chenin has a distinctly Chablis-like feel that comes through in its citrus-laced profile and overall energy. White pepper, flowers, mint and chalk add pretty aromatic upper notes. The 2019 is beautifully done.
